Hear Me Roar
Once upon a time, two midlife Facebook bloggers (Marie Thom from Midlife Dramas in Pyjamas and Yvonne Vincent from Growing Old Disgracefully) discovered they lived just a few miles apart.
"We must meet for a quick coffee forthwith," they cried (although they have since discovered that they far prefer meeting for slow cocktails).
The quick coffee lasted about three hours as they bonded over the joys of making people laugh, writing honestly about midlife issues and staying on the right side of Facebook jail. By the end of the session, they’d become firm friends.
Obviously, the next step would be to do something together. So, during a day out shopping, drinking cocktails and doing Facebook lives they thrashed ideas around - along with several Pornstar Martinis - and finally settled on a podcast. Both being women of action it only took a few months to turn this idea into a reality and Hear Me Roar (Inspirational Stories from Midlife and Beyond) was born. The plucky pair believe passionately about not allowing your age to make you invisible, take away your confidence or define and limit you.
The dynamic duo also love a good laugh and often reduce each other to helpless giggles. Their make-up demonstration and menopause songs have gone down in Facebook history…
