Dr Juliet Balfour has been a GP in Somerset with a special interest in women’s health for over 30 years. She is founder and lead for the NHS specialist menopause service for Somerset. She is a British Menopause Society (BMS) registered menopause specialist, a member of the BMS Medical Advisory Council and on the medical advisory team for the Menopause Research and Education Trust.

She is passionate about providing evidence-based menopause education for women and healthcare professionals via online and in-person talks for a variety of organisations. She has been quoted in many newspaper and magazine articles and appeared on podcasts such as Postcards from Midlife. She is an expert for Menopause Mandate, the campaign group for improving support and healthcare for peri and postmenopausal women. She is also part of a group led by Mariella Frostrup to advise the Department for Work and Pensions on supporting menopausal women in the workplace.

As well as her NHS and educational work, she is director of Wells Menopause Clinic, providing private online menopause consultations.
